TERRACE RENOVATION AT THE GRAND HYATT HOTEL, JAKARTA, INDONESIA
MASTERPLAN FOR THE 5TH FLOOR TERRACE
The hotel’s terrace has become obsolete and useless over time. The space needs to be dynamised to recreate the highly attractive qualities the terrace used to possess. With this proposal, we want to create a new concept of swimming pool where the water blends into the horizon to engineer an experience both in and out of the water. Thanks to the new swimming pool, guests will be able to admire the city skyline while taking a refreshing dip, exercising or simply enjoying a great cocktail on the 5th floor terrace of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, creating a true visual delight.
No walls, no barriers. Just air, freedom and increasingly open spaces that flow into each other in this marvellous location. The old separation walls will fall to open the space up to the horizon and create incredible experiences.
This project forms part of Ideas For Indonesia (IFI), which has been a FEM Arquitectura programme since 2012.
