The client asked us to design a residential complex for their family, in an exclusive Caribbean island landscape, with views over a golf course and the sea. The land slopes steeply, allowing us to work with architecture adapted to the terrain and to suggest very specific visual ideas.
The project will be carried out in various phases: the client’s house will be built first, along with an integrated, but separate, apartment for the client’s mother. The prerequisites are clear: creating a modern house that still respects the traditional sloping rooftops of the Caribbean, making full use of the steep terrain, the views and the breeze and giving the space as much privacy as possible.
To achieve this, the building is located at the area’s highest point, complete with 180 degree views. 2 separate patios will also be created for the rooms, to give them greater privacy and views of the garden. The open kitchen is positioned next to the main garden, creating a direct connection with the porch, the socialising terrace and the barbeque.
The second planned phase of the project will include a separate property for the client’s daughter, situated in the lowest section of the plot. In total, 3 properties will be developed for the family within the same plot.
