LIBAF-LOMBOK INT. BAMBOO ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL (INDONESIA)
THE OBJECT
The individual (the chair) – The Society (the chairs)
CONCEPT
Chair revolution
This notion invites us to reflect on the individual as a concept and also their amassment: society.
Society is born, grows and dies, giving way to new generations. It creates an infinite cycle. Societies have needs, create trends and are motors of change that affect future societies.
Architecture evolves alongside society and aims to respond to these needs and to contribute to adaptation and change.
< Chair revolution > aims to conceptually recreate some of these needs and demands of society, provoking introspection of the urban and architectural space.
THE FORMAT
Möbius
The Möbius strip is a simple yet complex element, with great imaginative power and curious practical applications. It will also doubtlessly provide future possibilities that we still aren’t even able to imagine.
The global image of the sculpture explores this three-dimensional form in space because of what it in itself represents. It aspires to transmit concepts such as: flow, paths, mobility, accessibility, imagination, continuity of space, infinity, and so on.
Infinity is a constant movement, without beginning or end.
Society and architecture, EVERYTHING, forms a cycle, a closed chain that is always linked and infinite: “Cities nowadays don’t sleep, they’re always awake…”
